Action Fund

As a part of our mission to train and support groups organizing from the ground up, we are excited to continue resourcing Black direct action* through our Action Fund. This award prioritizes funding for collectives, organizations and other formations of Black organizers and activists who are fighting at the intersections of oppression surrounding race, class, disability justice, and gender.

The Action Fund is an award of up to $1,000 to support Black direct action practitioners. These funds can be used for supplies, safety equipment, trainers, medics, or any other needs to execute your planned action and build your local Black direct action ecosystem. We also ask that all accepted applicants share with us a reflection statement with photos or media documentation of the action that was supported through the Action Fund. We cannot accept international applicants at this time.

We are prioritizing Black-led and Black-centered direct actions. The Action Fund is seeking to resource actions that include **but are not limited to**

  • Teach Ins
  • Marches
  • Caravans
  • Blockades
  • Rallies
  • Occupations

The BlackOUT Collective defines Direct Action as a tactic used to make an immediate intervention that stops business as usual. The purpose is to cause a crisis of conscience for the public, the state, the elite, and corporations. It is transformational in nature for those who use it. Aiming to transform the practitioner, the material conditions, the target, and the relationship that oppressed and working classes have to power.
